As part of Kasia Molga’s brilliant 2018/19 work BY THE CODE OF SOIL, I built a sneaky computer virus! We created a decoy application that users were encouraged to download, which showed some simple satellite telemetry, while also quietly installing the ‘real’ artwork onto almost 700 computers. When the time was right, we activate the virus, and her brilliant data-driven artwork was released unexpectedly around the world.
